Question 19 is definitely not 217, since they ask for biggest prime number. 217 can be divided by 7. My answer is 31.
ReplyDeleteI think it's E for Q4.
ReplyDeleteyes, answer for Q19 is 31, instead of 217.
ReplyDeleteQ10.
ReplyDelete6y^2=8x-4x^2
10x+6y^2=18x-4x^2
=-(2x-9/2)^2+81/4
Therefore the answer is 81/4.
However equality cannot be achieved.
DeleteQ28
ReplyDeleteI think that the answer should be 400.
Can somebody explain Qn 4, 17, 22, 23, 26, 28, 29, 32? Thks a lot. The paper was a headache...
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think would be the cut-off point for bronze this year?
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think would be be the cop for round 2
ReplyDeleteAround 17, I guess. Last year was 14.(This year is a lot easier) Sorry for the 2 stupid mistakes.
ReplyDeleteIf I get 13 for round 1, will I get into round 2 or will I at least get a bronze/silver?
ReplyDeleteWhen will the results be released??
ReplyDeleteAre all the answers here correct? Cos I get 21 points and do not know whether can get to the next round :((
ReplyDeleteI get 35 points... Not sure whether can get into second round... Feel very noob :(((
ReplyDeleteAny idea when will be results declared?
ReplyDeleteI just get 22 points, and wonder whether can into the second round. :((((
ReplyDeleteNote that if 81/4 is achieved, then x=9/4, hence 81/8+3y^2=9, so y^2=-3/8, i.e. y is not real. Hence 81/4 is wrong. The correct answer is (C) 20 since that is the largest number which yields a real value of y.
