Lim Jeck, last row 4th from left. He will proceed to Oxford for his 1 year postdoc after the workshop |
The main theme of this workshop will be the use of probabilistic methods in combinatorics and related areas. Although these methods have been around for decades, the area is developing extremely rapidly, with the development of sophisticated and powerful tools, and numerous very significant
breakthroughs in recent years. Much of the focus will be on classical areas of combinatorics, such as Ramsey theory, extremal graph theory, and random graphs, but the workshop will also emphasize connections with (and applications to) other areas of mathematics, such as statistical physics, theoretical computer science, high-dimensional geometry, random matrices, combinatorial number theory, and discrete analysis.
