is the answer for 6 1017?

Anonymous said...

shouldnt the answer for 12 114?

Anonymous said...

i am doubtful about the answer for qn19

Anonymous said...

Shouldn't 8 be 2018? X can't be 1009

Unknown said...

Isn't question 8 answer 2018, question 16 answer 8063 and question 19 answer 48?

Anonymous said...

qn16 is 4030 as the function can be (2x-1)+x(x-1)(x-2)...(x-2015)

Anonymous said...

question 8 cannot be 2019 since x cannot be 1009 but can be any integer between 0 to 2018 other than that.

Anonymous said...

Q8 is 2019.
RHS = 1
x can be any integer between 0 to 2018.
There are 2019 integer solutions.

Question 8 should be 2017, since both 1009 and 1004 are invalid.

Anonymous said...

1004 works.....

For question 12, the answer is 2 because sin x = x only if x is small and is in radians.

Anonymous said...

1004 does not work.

For q18 shouldn't the answer be 5 since 1000=8*125 so (1*3*...*2017)/1000=(1*3*...*123*127*129*...*2017)/8 which gives a remainder of 5?

Question 12 is 114, or else they won't even need a floor

Even I think so.....

What's the predicted cut-off this year? I think this year is harder...

Skittles Pony said...

1*3*5*...*2017 is congruent to 0 (mod 625) and 1*3*...*2017 is congruent to 1 (mod 8). Therefore 5 cannot be the answer as it is absurd

Anonymous said...

It isn't particularly hard so the cutoff would be the usual 11-12 points.

Normally when will the second round cutoff be publicized?

Anonymous said...

Can anyone tell me how to do question 13? I wrestled with this question but still cannot come up with an answer

Anonymous said...

Really?Do you think the cutoff will be lower than 2015 and 2013?

Anonymous said...

I think it is quiet time-consuming so I skipped it without hesitation during the exam.

Anonymous said...

what is this year's difficulty like compared to 2013 and 2015?

Reply:Really?Do you think the cutoff will be lower than 2015 and 2013?
So how many do u get correct?

Anonymous said...

14

24C3 = 2024
Number of ways where b=d=(a+c)/2 is 2(12C2)=132
(2024-132)/2!=946

Skittles Pony said...

By the way, speaking of time consuming, do you know how to do question 19?

Anonymous said...

Yes,question 19 is quiet simple.Use Pythagoras theorm twice and you can get the answer

Skittles Pony said...

I think the one involving Pythagoras theorem is question 20. Question 19 is the one involving the product of two fractions

Anonymous said...

My apology! I confused question 19 with 21. Notwithstanding,I work out 19 as well.I would like to share you with my solution. Can I have your email or you prefer me posting it here?

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Correct.

Anonymous said...

Are you in SIMO team ?
